Anoto Digital Pen and Paper technology used at G8 meetings in Italy

During the G8 meetings in Italy in 2009 digital pens were used for communications between the Sherpa and his/her assistants (located in another room of the same building) to transmit notes for internal and external use. This point-to-point communication solution allowed notes to be transmitted in just seconds while still maintaining strict confidentiality as only the Sherpa can write and the assistant read the notes.

The DP&P solution was built by Anoto Gold Partner Digiwrite and DAFRAL Soundvision S.r.l., an Italian company specialized in audio-visual equipment rental and services for big events. DAFRAL (www.dafral.com) also deployed the solution, that was used in all preliminary sessions and in the final G8 meeting in l’Aquila.
